This was a hugely powerful force in the United States in the 1920s. And something that really fascinated me from your book is that it wasn't relegated to the south. There were people who were participating in the clan or supported ideas reported by the clan in the north or above the Mason Dixon line. It really was a different beast, although it claimed that it was just continuing.
