Is It Difficult to Tell Stories in a Second Language?

It may be more difficult for people learning english to tell stories than a native speaker. One of the things, i think, so from my personal experience of telling stories in italian or telling stores in english, a would be using e colloquial language. Using these kind of words can be very funny and make the story more interesting. Or maybe using an expression.
