The History of Tobacco

Tobacco and ristica are both native to the central Andes. When Columbus arrived in 1492, tobacco was being grown from southern Alaska all the way to Chile. A blockbuster paper published at the end of 2022 where they found the remains of tobacco 12,300 years ago in Utah. There is no reason why the first cultivation should not have been intended to feed the spirit rather than the stomach.
