The Death of Maria Corb
Tanya Herman confessed to the murder of Maria Corb on February 9, 2005. She said she killed her with a bag strap and then set it alight at Greenvale Reservoir in Melbourne's south-west. Tanya claimed that Joe had cleaned up his wife's blood using bleach before throwing it into the Yarra River. After answering 719 questions over 4 hours, Tanya’s massive confession was over. The only thing that survived the flames were the metallic pieces from the bag strap which are believed to have been part of the crime scene. A pair of diamond studded earrings never recovered by police after they were found during an extensive search for them.
