Zuckerberg de-emphasized what he was doing with Metaplathforms. He believes it's because they were so far behind in mobile, when Facebook was primarily a desktop experience and missed the fact that the iPhone was revolutionizing how people interacted with social media. I understand perfectly why they would try to get out in front even if they're losing. They continue to deliver on the main part of their business.
For the first time in a while, Facebook's parent company gave shareholders reason to smile.
