How Do You Make a Montage?
I wanted people to feel difficult on who to root for. So when a montage, it couldn't be completely balanced. But at the same time, it had to be dynamic enough where you felt like you got enough of both characters going into it. It was such a puzzle to kind of fit to make that happen. And it worked out, but I think the music is definitely way in. On this one, we scored the music after we already had the montage. In hindsight, I think I'm making the song first. That may give me a little more rhythmic cuts. You need your hero doing something that, hey, it's the ninth montage that we've seen
