The Development of Sub National Regional Identity in the Brazilian Northeast

In the brazilian northeast, regional identity was forged with both national and international spheres in mind. The region is stepping out of the place within the nation that its expected to begin its disrupting that spatial hierarchy. And i believe there are implications here for understanding not only region, but nation. Perhaps the nation too needs to be understanned as a vereti understood as a very limited metaphor for that imagined community.
