The Impossible Problem of Living on Mars
If synthetic biology is about solving problems with biology, how do you choose which problems to solve with biology? I don't know. Me either. So that's why I wanted to start asking the question with an example of a big, nearly impossible problem. It takes almost two years sometimes to get to Mars and to get back again. And so if you're going to stay there for some period of time, you're on an inhospitable planet very far from home.
