For most Americans, gasolene is around two or three % of their household budget. But for those who have to drive a lot, gasoline can be as much as 20%. Being able to have access to an e v make a huge difference in the pinch that they're failing. There's also a cultural reason why some people are more likely to buy electric cars because it's politically progressive to do so. It's like rolling coal, which is where you might be familiar with the phrase "rolling coal"
