Scientism is an assumption of faith. It's illogical, irrational and itself unscientific to suppose that science can answer all our questions. To understand many of these things you have to behave at least as if for the time being, you're willing to be part of it. And then you find out what it is that you didn't see before. We are just too rigid. I think there were good scientists. Now at last good life scientists, biologists who are being imaginative and seeing these things and talking in a much more holistic way about things.
