The goal of psychoanalysis is to separate from the other, while still remaining like attuned to death. Desire alone can't get this done because first desire is always pegged and subservient to the law. Enjoyment whether you willfully or accidentally discover it in the field of desire, typically by way of symptom, is maladaptive and ultimately unsatisfying.
