What Was the Trigger for You to Get Your First Writer's Festival?

I want to go back, scooch, back a little bit too. When you first kind of popped up on the the literary scene, what was the trigger for you to get your first writer's festival into invitation? Cause you've written a lot of stuff. But i pretty much came out of performance into the writing side of it.
