Javier Zamora left his childhood home in El Salvador to reunite with his parents in the U.S. at age nine. It's been more than 20 years since that experience, and Javier has finally decided to revisit his childhood in a memoir called Salito. In reflecting on his past, Javier realized he needed to update his understanding of his nine-year-old self.
At age nine, Javier Zamora embarked on a harrowing, 3000-mile immigration journey from El Salvador to the United States. More than twenty years later, he’s finally ready to revisit that period of life and what it took for him to survive such treacherous circumstances.
