In 1961 the Beatles were effectively thrown out of Germany after it was discovered that George was underage while Paul and Pete Best were deported for setting fire to condoms. Manager Alan Williams booked them gigs at Aintree Institute Latham Memorial Hall Blair Hall and Grovener Ballroom but he was keen to try and get them back to Hamburg so he'd written to the owner of the top ten club in Hamburg Peter Eckhorn. He was then dismayed to discover that Pete Best had also been speaking to Peter Eckhorn and the booking had already been arranged 20th of AprilAlan who was justifiably annoyed at how he'd been betrayed quit as their Beatles manager.
