In 19 87, there was an m m r vaccine that was being used in canada. It caused meningitus and had to be rapidly withdrawn. Scientists found the risk for meningitus was associated with age of exposure. For people like me investigating artism, the question was, is there a similar risk in artism? Is age of exposure to m m r a risk for artism, just as it was for meneditus? We shared with the us Congress and the c d c. The hypothesis, the story as told to us, is that the majority of children regress following a period of normal development in the face of m m r vaccination.
