The Paradox of Island Plants

Incelia is a plant that lives on the bluffs above Los Angeles. It's popular in horticulture and I grow it. They just need full sun and you can't overwater me. The paradox of island plants is that they must have dispersed over long distances to arrive at an island. But they tend to have really bad dispersal mechanisms because once you're on the island, there's really high selection against dispersal.
