Poverty is a multi-dimensional problem. It's essentially something like lack of proper placement within a functioning social hierarchy and lack of forward vision. And then what happens is because they can't find meaning or surcease from anxiety in the pursuit of a well-constituted life, they default to impulsive pleasure-seeking. So there's also causal, bidirectional causality constantly at work in a manner that makes me a manner that belies the leftist claims.
