Is There a Need to Get Answers?
The point of this is to investigate the smallest amount of virus that can cause infection or an immune response. There's a pressure group who are really asking for these human challenge trials to have been started long before now. And it's very hard, i think, to make ethical judgments about what is best because here there's not going to be really a benefit to the individual,. The benefit is more going tob to society at large. People aren't paid to take part in this trial. They are compensated for their time.
