The James Webbs space telescope seems to have a glitch brewing. One of the instuments has a filter wheel, or actually, i guess, the defraction gratings that have to get rotated into the beam path. And one of those is apparently experiencing too much friction while it's turning. The whole telescope didn't go into safe mode, but just this one instrument,. ar ther's actually even just this one part of this one instrument, miry, the mid infered imager, that is shut down now till they figure out what this clich is.
