Vaccines don't prevent infection, so people are capable of contracting covid and spreading it to others. This puts selection pressure on the virus to mutate in ways that evade the vaccine. And this was predicted by a lot of people who were a little bit sceptical or concerned about the vaccines. But there's a very good case to be made that that's part of what's going on with delta, and potentially other variants.
