Watergate established better understanding, made politics move forward in a direction in which the enemies of nix were on the driver's seat. Nixon would have been better off being impeached because politically then, the things that were that were kept secret and those things he could have brought in his defence. And it would have been harder for those things that did come out that were in the legal under legal immunities that they couldn't talk about. It just made it. I mean, there was no truth in american politics. Thait was more believed about 19 72, that nixon was a crook, and watergate was a vindication of the constitution.
