The Phoenician Alphabet and Cypriot History

The phoenician alphabet is a very important milestone of writing development. Modern arabic and hebrew are thought to be descendant scripts as well greek and latin. One of the best examples of this alphabet comes from the phoenician city of biblos. The sarcophagus of a phoenician king inscribed with old phoenician letters dates back to around one thousand b c e. Cyprus must have always been rich in resource, not least of all copper.
