What's the Lesson You're Learning From History?
When I was 19, I read a book called Someone Knows My Name by an Author named Lawrence Hill. And it's a fictional novel, but it's based on real life events. It tells story of the young West African girl in the 1700s who was kidnapped by slave traders and sold into the transatlantic slave trade. But it was the first time in my life that I had been confronted with the brutality of humanity and story. "I'd always been interested in history. I've read about different ancient civilizations"
