Taking a Zinc Supplement Is a Good Idea

10 milligrams of zinc taken an hour before your upcoming meal can be absorbed on its own. You'll absorb 60 to 70% of that supplement and that alone will allow you to meet the RDA. The World Health Organization recommends using sulfate, acetate or gluconate because they've been the most well studied in the context of replete zinc deficiencies.
