Young and Stupid is a classic Glory Days song. The song very much exists and was written from the present. Most of your Glory Days you probably wouldn't really want to go back but it's rose-tinted spectacles isn't it? I had a cut-off point which was probably about 1990 when I started to wise up a little bit. My Glory Days were from 85 to 90 because I had these, I was just running wild with so much energy but not having the wisdom really to use that energy wisely.
