Great Improvisers, Greatest Skill Is Listening
Great improvisers teach us to do, right? What's the number one thing that they tell us to do for practice? It's to listen. And so you have to really train yourself to be a really present listener who's there with the rest of your band or audience. We were just talking to Gregory Hutchinson and, you know, I mentioned like his big skill. He's got chops for days and swings and ideas and everything. But I think his greatest skill is listening.
