I started teaching as a master student I was only a couple of years older than the students in some cases I felt intensely inadequate and I felt like I had to have an answer to every question. That puts you under pressure right it might encourage you to sort of make up an answer on the spot hoping it's right. Every so often you'll say something that turns out to be wildly false and that's going to undercut your authority right, he says. He found over time that it's a lot easier and a lot better to sometimes say well I don't know let me look into it or I'm not sure what do you think.
