Franco and C. K. S, the Spanish Nationalists
Franco was a Spanish general who led the nationalist forces in overthrowing the leftist second Spanish Republic during the Spanish Civil War of 1936 to 1939. He ruled Spain as a dictator until his death in 1975. Despite Franco and John Kai-shek both being anti-communist, they had a rocky relationship actually early on. Japan had seized Manchuria, northeast China in 1931, and then in 1937 Japan began a full-scale invasion of China.
