The Paris Riots Are Out of Control
France's Prime Minister said the goal is for national unity and to get the situation under control, but it does not appear under control at all. I would just say out of control. The last mass riot that we saw like this was back in 2005, but there have been similar ones in between. At the time, there ended up having to be a national curfew. We're not there yet. Emmanuel Macron seems very keen to avoid that. What he did this afternoon was say he was appealing to the mothers and fathers of youngsters involved who are outriding and should be kept at home.
