Is China Going to Come to North Korea's Defense?
China is the main provider of economic assistance to North Korea as well as its main trading partner. Pyongyang imports raw materials for agricultural fertilizer from China and China has long provided about half a million tons of crude oil annually by pipeline. Even before the pandemic, more than 95% of North Korea's total trade was with China China. And I wonder from China's perspective, do they see it as providing leverage? If so, what might they do with that leverage?
