You don't need to keep the cables plugged in all the time into your devices keep the cables always plugged in the back of your thunderbolt dock then when you're switching devices between mac and ipad plug them in once so that the keyboard and the trackpad pair with the ipad or the mac but then hide the cables again in theback of your desk until the next time you want to connect a different device. Bluetooth KVM's exist well I don't think so a KVM is a box where
