Is There a Connection Between the Sumerian Flood and Indra's Killing of Vritra?

Nishan: Is there any connection between the Vedic god Indra's killing of Vritra and the Sumerian Gilgamesh flood story? Nishan: There could be or maybe maybe not. He says it kind of raises the possibility that initially there could have been a flood. And I think that does seem to be a flood story in ancient Indian mythology as well, which could be a memory of a very ancient flood.
