Is Magic a Subset of Occultism?
I define magic as a subset of occultism. Occultism is the whole grab bag of stuff they got shoved into, into history dumpster at that of when the Roman Empire was forcibly converted to Christianity. There's magic, there's divination, there are various kinds of philosophical practices, there's alchemy, and the list goes on. I tend to like the unfortunate definition that magic is the art and science of causing change in consciousness in accordance with will. That's a booby trap definition these days.
