For guys, it's always good to have at least a nice black suit. I do a lot of elopements and backyard weddings so i'm not looking for some one to show up in a full suit. For when i hire second shooters, i'm usually ok with, like, hey, you now just wer something nice that looks like you're a wedding guest,. That's kind of my dress code.
