The Role of Agency in the Inflation Battle
The problems of the 70s are discussed almost entirely as a policy phenomenon, right? It was Arthur Burns taking his foot off the gas too fast or just sort of being wishy-washy about the inflation battle. So I guess the question that spins out of that is there's clearly some room for agency within these larger sort of demographic and structural trends. But within that, how much room to shape things do people actually have, be they individuals, markets or policymakers?
