There's been repeated attempts by the Commission and some member states to loosen the state aid rules. Europe needs to be very careful not to basically invest taxpayers money in the shape of subsidies in the wrong places, he says. So far there's been no real interest coming from Taiwan. And then we will see whether it goes in alignment with Washington's efforts to isolate China or whether it tries to kind of carve out some kind of autonomous space for European interests.
