Merlot Ponte's book on Stalinism is quite compelling and one obviously wishes in a sense that he didn't give way to this kind of Marxist Pascallianism. Arthur Kessler after World War II has kind of moved to his most left and he's one of France's most prominent intellectuals who responds to this book.
