The Disastrous Use of the Word Predict

Today's most powerful mathy maths are very much in the cybernetic tradition they use virtual quote neurons with continuous weights and activations to learn functions that make predictive models based on training data do we know who's responsible for this use of the word predict and predictive and prediction because it's such a disaster to the field i'm curious. despite its ups and downs the term AI seems here to stay while cybernetics has sunk into obscurity ironically today's most powerfulmathy maths are  in the cybernetic Tradition.
