The Connection Between Pixar and Toy Story

Toy Story was partly made possible because of another movie, not a Pixar film, but the movie A Nightmare Before Christmas. John Lasseter and Tim Burton both attended Cal Arts at the same time. They've always said that story comes first. If they don't have the story just right, people don't care how good your animation is.
