The Battle of Tunis

With long stop hill secured, the last great natural barrier to Tunis, the Allies were able to enter the capital. They declared victory on the 13th of May and took more than 250,000 prisoners of war. We went into Tudor's one to twice for the first time ever since landing in Africa. The memories of the campaign weighed heavily over the years. I think it was after the war when you sort of sat back and thought, gosh, I've killed my fellow man. It was awful, but that war is terrible.
