Tolkien said something along the lines of Celtic myth in general is like rather beautiful stained glass windows, who someone's lobbed stones through. I refute that to my bones. And as someone that can tell Celtic stories for many days, not just an hour, he's wrong about that. You know, those stories are the Irish Old Testament. That's what they are. They're theIrish Old Testament to those people. So I take them tremendously seriously, and I love them, but they are playful and curvaceous like an Irish landscape.
