Einstein: One of the key design decisions that went in early on like from day one of parity Ethereum was to be able to support POA and eventually POS blockchains. We're not just concerned with how new blocks are made or what finalization mechanism we're talking about, but rather the nature of the blockchain itself. And now of course it's not just POA, POS or changing all that. We actually want to change the entire runtime.
We finally sit down with Gavin to go through a bit of what Parity has been working on with Polkadot and Substrate. We talk about Polkadot early history and who was involved and where the idea spawned, up to coding practices and where Substrate became a thing.
