Are You Thinking Like a Bacteria?
Eric Davidson once said to a colleague that he thought like a bacterium. He was aware it could be taken as an offence, but really meant something different. Long after there's no vertebrates anymore on this planet, there's still going to be lots of bacteria. And they'll be discussing who was the cleverer organism then, I think. But given that the situation is just unidirectional... There's a difference.
