Polybius and the History of the Athenians
Pelybius, greek historian from arcadia and a soldier who rose to prominence at rome in the second century b c. E,. travelled incessantly in his histories. He aunched an assault on an earlier greek historian called timaeus of sicily. Timaeus spent four decades in athenian libraries, writing a massive, forty book history of greece from earliest time to the punic wars. We haven't got it. Sorry. I don't really regret it.
