How to Judge a Scientific Consensus in a Field in Which Things Are So Technical That We Don't Have the Expertise
The best criticism of standard microeconomic theory comes from two areas. One is internal to economics; the other is within philosophy. The most convincing questioning is in fact done by other experts, except the experts in either very closely related fields or if I even turn up to the field itself. It's not an informed opinion, it's just an opinion.
