The series explores the troubled legacy of racism, slavery, sexuality, classism, and cycles of trauma in the post-colonial landscape of Britain and Jamaica.

Millie-Jean Black, a former Scotland Yard detective, returns to her hometown in Jamaica to work on missing persons cases, only to find herself entangled in a dangerous and complex investigation that threatens her sanity and life.

The series features a diverse cast, including Tamara Lawrance, Gershwyn Eustache Jr., and Joe Dempsie, and is produced by Motive Pictures for HBO and Channel 4.
