A modern British retelling
Book •
The Elves and the Shoemaker tells the story of a poor shoemaker who can barely make ends meet.

One night, he cuts out the leather for a final pair of shoes but finds them perfectly made in the morning.

This continues, and the shoemaker becomes prosperous with the help of the mysterious elves.

Eventually, the shoemaker and his wife decide to thank the elves by making them clothes.

The grateful elves leave and are never seen again, but the shoemaker and his wife continue to prosper.
