The Count of Monte Cristo

The novel, set during the Bourbon Restoration in France, follows Edmond Dantès, a young sailor falsely accused of treason and imprisoned in the Château d'If.

With the help of fellow prisoner Abbé Faria, Dantès learns various subjects and discovers the location of a hidden treasure on the island of Monte Cristo.
