Acts
Book • 2024
Acts collects poems by Spencer Reece that intertwine religious reflection, personal memory, and formal attention to language.
As an Episcopal priest, Reece often brings theological concerns into his lyric work, interrogating belief, grief, and community with compassion and craft.
The collection balances devotional tones with clarifying imagery, creating poems that feel both confessional and outward-looking.
Critics have noted Reece’s capacity to render spiritual experience in accessible, musically shaped lines.
Acts continues his project of making intimate faith narratives legible to secular readers while preserving theological specificity.
