Heaven's Prisoners

Vietnam veteran and retired New Orleans detective Dave Robicheaux lives quietly with his wife Annie in the Louisiana bayous until they witness a drug smuggler's plane crash.

They rescue and adopt a young Salvadoran girl named Alafair, but this draws them into conflict with childhood friend and drug kingpin Bubba Rocque, a brutal Cajun wife, and a federal agent.

As discrepancies about the crash victims emerge, Robicheaux confronts a tide of violence, homegrown crime, and conspiracy far beyond his control.
